What We Believe
Our mission here at The Historic First Baptist Church of Cheswold is to share the love of Jesus and to lead mankind into a 'right' relationship with Him. We strive to encourage and equip men and women to develop an intimacy with God and to become part of a loving and caring faith community. Additionally, FBCC seeks to be a church where all of God's children feel welcomed and can come to know and live a god-pleasing life according to His Word! FBCC follows the mandate of Jesus Christ and the Holy Scriptures to go into the world, evangelize the lost, care for the needy, and help comfort the distressed and hurting. FBCC is a 'bible believing' church whose members are empowered by the Holy Spirit and enjoy the privilege of making disciples of men, women, and children for Christ.
Our Beliefs
At The Historic First Baptist Church of Cheswold, we believe in the Holy Scriptures as the inspired and infallible Word of God. We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, was crucified, died for our sins, was buried, and rose again on the third day according to the Scriptures. We believe that salvation is a gift of God's grace and is received by personal faith in Jesus Christ. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
